Nuts and bolts of Paper 2
- Paper 2 is 1 hour 30 minutes in length.
- You will be presented with an historical enquiry.
- You will be provided with a variety of historical sources - written, posters, cartoons, photographs etc.
- There are FIVE questions.
- You must use the source to reposnd to the questions.
Types of task include:
- Comparing two sources for their 'interpretations (view) of a particular event / issue or person.
- Comparing the attitudes / messages of two cartoons.
- Explaining the message of a cartoon.
- Considering the purpose of a particular source.
- Discussing the reliability or utility (value) of a source as 'evidence'.
- Using one source to determine whether another source is 'lying'.
- Using ALL the sources to evaluate an overarching statement: e.g Was the Treaty of Versailles fair?
